  6. Study visits to Iceland, the Kingdom of Norway, and France in order to establish new contacts and capacity building with relevant actors in the CBRN safety and security field, and in order to exchange experience and best practices

Most of the proposed project activities are planned to be implemented in the Slovakian-Ukrainian border region. This are primarily educational activities intended for target groups operating directly on the Slovakian-Ukrainian border and in the border regions – regional structures of the Police Force of the SR, Financial Directorate of the SR – Customs Department, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and others. These will take place in the premises of the Interior Ministry in eastern Slovakia.

Foreign activities are divided according to content focus into workshops (3x the Slovak Republic, the Kingdom of Norway and 3x Ukraine) and study visits. These will take place in three countries – Iceland, Norway and France. The reason for the choice of Iceland for the study visit is the extensive experience of Icelandic state institutions in crisis management, especially in cases of natural disasters (e.g. volcanic eruptions), which can be effectively applicable even in case of CBRN incidents. France, as one of the most advanced European countries in the fight against CBRN and terrorist threats, can share with the project partners its wealth of experience and best practices in combating cross-border criminal activities. The study visit to the Kingdom of Norway will be carried out in particular in order to acquire the knowledge and learn about the model of Norwegian-Russian cooperation in the protection of the common border.
